What foolishness I have committed in not responding to grace, in leading the life I have led!
(Then, crying out pitifully, he exclaims, causing the possessed woman to stand up): Why did I let myself go like this, why? Why did I agree to receive the priesthood, this very heavy burden, since I was not capable, if I did not make an effort to rise to the height of this great ideal? Why did I set a bad example, as thousands and thousands of priests do today, by not living up to my priesthood? Why didn't I teach catechism, as I should have done?
Women Have Damned Many Priests
I spent my time looking at women's dresses rather than observing God's commandments. In truth, I was neither hot nor cold, I was lukewarm, and the Lord vomited me out of his mouth. In my youth, I was still good, I still lived up to grace.
(As he spoke, we heard his cries through the possessed woman).
It was later that I became lukewarm. That was when I entered the broad and easy path of pleasure and abandoned the narrow path of virtue, no longer responding to grace; and then I fell lower and lower.
At first, I still went to confession, I wanted to convert, but I did not succeed because I no longer knew how to pray sufficiently. I did not correspond to grace because, from lukewarm, I descended to becoming cold. Between lukewarm and cold, there is only the distance of an onion skin. If I had been warm and ardent, I would not have known this miserable fate.
If priests do not pull themselves together today, well, they will suffer the same fate as me. Currently, there are thousands, tens of thousands of priests in the world who are like me, who set a bad example, who are lukewarm and no longer correspond to God's grace. All of them, if they do not convert, will have no better fate than I, Verdi-Garandieu, have had.
Ah! What a fate for me, hell! If only I had never been born! If only I could live again! Ah! How I would love to return to earth in order to live better! Ah! How I would love to spend my nights and days on my knees, in prayer, invoking the Most High! I would invoke the Angels and Saints of Heaven to help me leave the path of perdition, but I can no longer turn back, I am condemned (he ends in a lamentable voice).
Alas, priests do not know what it means to be condemned to hell and what hell is. Currently, almost everyone on earth follows the path of least resistance. They want to enjoy the pleasures of life. They are convinced that practicing humanism, as they say, and having the mentality of their time, is something that is now forever acquired.
Bishops, cardinals, and abbots do not set a better example than that set by their subordinates. Do they live according to the simplicity that Christ practiced in his meals and at his table? As the Gospel says, Jesus Christ certainly participated in banquets, invited by this or that person, but at these meals he did not eat much. And if he ate a little during these banquets, it must be emphasized that many times he preferred to go hungry.
The Holy Family and the Apostles also fasted a lot. Otherwise, they would not have received all the graces they enjoyed. And yet Jesus did not need to acquire grace, since he himself was the Author of grace, but he wanted to set an example: to his Apostles, of course, but also to all the Cardinals, Bishops, and priests of all ages. But what good is that, since nowadays Cardinals, Bishops, and priests sit at tables in luxurious surroundings and enjoy delicious food?
They go so far as to ruin their health by continuing this way of life, but they imagine that it is part of their episcopal, cardinal or jurisdictional position. Poor cooks, who imagine that because they serve bishops or dignitaries, they must present complicated dishes at the table. The poor women imagine that it would be a shame for them not to be able to serve all these dishes at the table. They forget that in this way they are not helping the bishops to imitate Christ, nor the priests. It would be better if these cooks could tell these dignitaries that Christ lived and lives much more simply.
The Imitation of Christ
Those Above (he points upwards) insist that the Imitation of Jesus Christ be respected; and what is currently being done is quite the opposite of the Imitation of Jesus Christ. We live in refinement, luxury, abundance, to the point of excess, even to the point of sin. Sin often begins at the table. We already begin to sin when we should be practicing a certain asceticism and refuse to do so.
The refusal of the spirit of sacrifice is not sin, but the open door to sin, through which it can enter. It is the lack of asceticism that slowly leads to sin. Between the two, there is only a thin layer of onion skin. If the priest does not follow the teachings of the Church, it is we who come and pull him by the hem of his robe to bring him onto our paths.
For a moment, it is only a small piece of the robe that we take, but with the hope of snatching the whole garment. For a long time, I had every intention of becoming a good priest; but it should be noted that priests are attacked by us much more than lay people. Of course, lay people are also in danger, especially those who strive to be righteous and those who hold important positions. But since priests have great power to bless, we prefer to attack priests first.
As for myself, I remembered that I was a priest and, at first, I exercised my priesthood seriously. Then, over time, I found it monotonous and, forgetting prayer, I also forgot celibacy. I stopped praying, first because I thought I was very busy, and then, on other days, I would start again, and finally, I gave it up completely. I thought that the long prayers of the breviary were tedious and useless, and eventually I lost the desire to pray.
When I gave up the breviary, I fell into the sin of impurity, and from that moment on, I no longer had any desire to say Mass. It was a chain reaction. When I fell into impurity, it was a chain reaction. I no longer said Mass with piety, because I was no longer in a state of grace. In this state, reading the Bible and the Gospel in particular, as well as seeing God's commandments, became a reproach to me.
This was a warning to me, and because I ignored the warning, I resolved not to teach the children as I should have taught them. How could I have taught them what was right when I did not practice it myself? But those who today call themselves humanists and modernists know this as well as I do.
How could they impose on lay people and children things they do not believe and do not practice themselves? How could they bear to teach them as they should, knowing that their teaching does not correspond to their inner selves, and that they would then be telling enormous lies? For many, over time, their hearts have become like an abyss of death. There are many more than we think who are in this state. They are rotten apples; how could a rotten apple give off a good smell? Only a priest who strives for virtue can touch souls and give them what they need.
If priests set an example of virtue, especially to young people, we would have a world very different from the one we know. You would have a world a thousand times better than the one you have now. How can you spread goodness if you don't have it within you? How can I talk about the Holy Spirit if I myself am happy not to listen to Him? How can I show others the way forward when I myself have strayed from it? It is a tragedy far deeper than you can imagine.
The tragedy is that it is when the priest leaves the path of virtue that he is tempted to lead many souls after him.
It begins with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, which, from beginning to end, is said without taste. As a result, one does not benefit from it oneself. In any case, that was how it was for me, and I developed an aversion to the Mass and its sacred texts, which are, for someone who behaves badly, a constant reproach.
As for me, as for thousands of other priests, there was at least transubstantiation, which allowed the faithful to truly attend Mass, because these people cannot know the depths of a priest's heart; but woe to the priests who no longer say what they must say to ensure Mass, and who no longer live by it.
Woe to those who lead the faithful astray. These priests would do better to cry out from the pulpit, in public: "I have sinned, I am no longer capable of practicing virtue. Pray for me, that I may be converted and once again teach the ways of virtue." It would be much better to speak, and we demons would no longer have the power to dominate these priests, because they would have performed an act of humility.
Even if some were to feel contempt for a priest who spoke in this way, most of those who heard him would be edified by his humility and could help him to recover. Most of the faithful would have esteem for a priest who expressed himself in this way; it would be much better than continuing on the path of falsehood and hypocrisy.
What is the point of celebrating Mass facing the people and saying to them:
Repentance Is Necessary
"Come closer! God forgives you all your sins, He understands you. Come closer to the Father of lights; and if you are in darkness, He will restore you to grace." All these people forget that something must be done first, so that the Father will take you back into His arms and restore you to His grace.
It is true that the Father takes his children back into his arms, but first there must be repentance and a promise to change the direction of one's life. One must avoid the paths that lead to perdition.
The priest must think: "I must begin with myself. That would be the only way to be a model for everyone and to be able to preach the teaching of the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ to the whole community. That would also be the mission that the Most High considers me to preach and fulfill among the people."
We talk too much about loving our neighbor, forgetting that this love comes from our love for God. How can we talk about loving our neighbor, about coming closer to one another, if we forget the first commandment, the main commandment: "You must love God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength"? The commandment to love one's neighbor comes second.
If the priest first made peace with Those Above (he points upwards), love for one's neighbor would follow immediately. It is a Masonic masquerade to say, "We must love one another, help one another, support one another." But where does all this end? Even if we talk about charity, or forgiveness, or support, look at the result, if only the current suicide rate.
The First Commandment
It is true that it is a commandment to love your neighbor as yourself, but that comes after the commandment to honor and worship God first. We must start at the very beginning of this commandment, and first love God, which truly includes love for our neighbor. The entire commandment is found in the first part. If we truly loved God, we would not talk incessantly about loving our neighbor, supporting them, and helping them.
But nothing like that happens. People chat all the time, in parish halls, at bishops' conferences, and even in Rome. They chat, they discuss, they fix, they erase, they want to receive everything in a way that Those Above (he points upward) do not accept.
Those Above (he points upward) are not only mercy, they are also justice, and I, Verdi-Garandieu, know something about that. If I had practiced virtue, prayed, done penance, I would not have learned it the hard way, as I know it now. I should have asked for crosses to help my sheep become holy, and to make myself holy; but I forgot to ask for all that.
Nowadays, most priests forget that they must follow the Way of the Cross, sacrifice themselves, pray for others, and forget themselves. Nowadays, we should be shouting from the pulpit to our faithful that they must do penance to make amends and pull out of the mud all those who are currently wallowing in it. That would be a way of practicing charity in truth.
All this is certainly important, but it all sinks into the dust, especially since God himself has promised to give us what we need to live, especially in our time when material things are distributed in a remarkable organization. That is why they must not be the goal of our charity but the means that allows us to access the other, that of God.
Of course, we must help those in need, but to go so far as to neglect our duty to God is too much. Rather, we should concern ourselves from the pulpit with leading the faithful to pray for those who are in great spiritual difficulty and therefore in great danger; to ask that a blessed candle be lit, or to use the cross, the cross of the dead, and holy water, not to mention the rosary, to bring help to that person from afar.
You Must Take Religion Seriously
All this brings blessings, even when done by lay people; it is done discreetly and quietly. And we, in this matter, must yield to this.
People should be reminded from the pulpit that they must take religion seriously, devote themselves to one another, in order to maintain perseverance in everyone's heart, and thus keep people on the path of virtue.
Lay people should also be told that they must pray for members of the clergy and for all their responsibilities, so that they may remain in the service of God and not fall into the traps of the devil. We must pray that priests may lead the faithful well. I am a priest myself, and that is why I suffer terribly in hell because of my sacred character.
Priests, from the pulpit, should also invite the faithful to pray for them, because they should let the faithful know that the demons attack them much more fiercely than they believe. They must pray for priests, so that they may persevere in their ministry and in the right direction, until the hour of their death. Lay people must also pray for one another, so that they may remain on the path of virtue and, in any case, of goodness; not just occasionally, but regularly.
It is tragic that thousands upon thousands of priests and lay people have grown up like tender grass. Suddenly, when temptation strikes, they are trampled by the devil, as Jesus Christ points out to us in the Gospel: because they lack either sunlight or water, or because the sun has burned them. This is all the more so because lay people today are led astray from the right path by the priests themselves, who tell them that what was done in the past is now obsolete. Among them all (priests and lay people), there were some who practiced great virtue, but then suddenly fell away because they were not sufficiently rooted in the earth, in good soil.
I tell you, Verdi-Garandieu, we must always pray that priests and lay people remain steadfast. We must know how to say, especially priests, from the pulpit, that prayer for perseverance is increasingly necessary today. We must remember that perseverance on the way of the cross is the law of happiness, because those who know how to endure (trials) are on the path to Heaven.
Bear Your Crosses Well
In particular, we must tell poor people that they should be content to bear their misfortune, because afterwards they will be deeply happy in Heaven. Even if the poor have to endure (deprivation), they are still very far from the fasting and sacrifices accepted, for example, by the Curé d'Ars and other great saints, to the extreme limit of their lives. We must tell the poor that they should thank the Lord for the lot He has given them, because this accepted poverty can help them to imitate Jesus Christ more closely.
Thank God, because, depending on the degree of poverty you experience, you also have much less time in which you could succumb to temptation, since you always have to work. Those who have large families and therefore have much to do to educate and feed them should thank God three times a day, because in this way they have every opportunity to escape the pleasures of this world and better prepare themselves for the kingdom of heaven, where their place is reserved.
When a fourth child arrives in a family, it is a tragedy, both for those around them and for the family itself. What can be done? What is true of the fourth child is sometimes also true of the second or third; and, unfortunately, priests are sympathetic to these complaints and accept that the faithful use the pill to avoid having children. The faithful do not realize the danger they are putting themselves in because, between taking the pill (already a serious sin) and abortion (an even more serious sin), there is a short distance.
Abortion is murder and, therefore, a very serious sin. Nowadays, people no longer want to believe what has been believed for thousands and thousands of centuries. So, even if God does not directly punish masturbation, as He punished Onan's crime, our God considers contraceptives to be as serious as what was done. You can imagine what He thinks of abortion! Because all these misdeeds are contrary to God's Plan of Salvation.
Therefore, I, Verdi-Garandieu, feel obliged to tell everyone, bishops, cardinals, and priests, that they must shout from the pulpit—what exactly?—"Follow the way of the Lord, because where there is renunciation and sacrifice, there is also the possibility of grace."
Sorrow and Sacrifice Bring in Grace
Where there is no sacrifice or renunciation, there is no possibility of grace. And where there is no renunciation or sacrifice, the slightest little hole offers us the possibility of very easily becoming masters, with our cunning. This little hole is enough for us to overturn the whole house, which is the case with all your Churches at present.
We must give new missions to the people and preach to them, not from the ambo, but from the pulpit, as we have already said before. There are even churches where one has to go down to the altar rather than up, and as a result, people are distracted because their gaze is no longer directed upwards but towards the distractions provided by what is below, and even what is very low, right down to our own homes. We should revive these popular missions, because when the path of virtue is proposed in this way, it is a shower of graces that is offered to the people.
The influence of a priest who lives according to the laws of the Lord is enormous, as can be seen in the life of the Curé d'Ars. The Curé d'Ars did not save souls by traveling, eating at fine restaurants, or attending all kinds of conferences, but by remaining in his room before the Blessed Sacrament, which is what I myself should have done, Verdi-Garandieu. Instead, I neglected my pastoral duties to my entire parish and led it down this path. In our time, we need thousands and thousands of Curés d'Ars, and if they do not yet exist, we must think about imitating this man.
This is what I, Verdi-Garandieu, am obliged to say: priests must avoid regular contact with women and must recite the complete breviary. In reality, if priests do not say the breviary, they are in great danger of succumbing to temptation; on the other hand, if they recite it, it is the Most High who helps them to overcome it, because priests are subject to great temptations in this regard. It should be noted that even when a priest falls into sin and, despite this, recites his breviary, the Most High gives him the opportunity to continue his ministry and be a useful instrument for the faithful.
It must be said to all those who are experiencing great difficulties that they must persevere in the hope of the Lord, because the Lord loves to test those who love Him, especially at a time when financial means allow people to protect themselves against suffering and trials. It is often necessary to repeat from the pulpit that they must first trust in the Lord in order to be able to fight against their trials and endure them.
At present, this point must be emphasized strongly, because these financial means are an occasion of weakness, especially in parish communities, and because the easy and pleasurable (or lax) life of priests, and even bishops, does not lead to the imitation of Jesus Christ, but rather to the perdition of souls.
How can the Holy Spirit intervene in souls if the priest takes the easy way out, not giving people a sense of sin and making them believe that God is merciful and forgives everything very easily, without inviting them to repent and practice repentance? We must shout from the rooftops that the way of the cross is required by Heaven. It is by following the Cross of Jesus Christ that we best help our neighbor's salvation, because God uses this penance; or rather, God uses this penance to help our neighbor's salvation. Because if we fulfill the first part of God's commandment, we also fulfill the second part of this commandment of love.
Is it truly practicing love for God to celebrate Mass facing the people, as if it were addressed to the people and not to God? Priests must say Mass in such a way that it is clear that it is solely the service of God and the honor of God that are sought through this Sacrifice. Everything else is merely complementary or supplementary; priests preach far too much about everyday matters and about love of neighbor, in general or in particular, forgetting that it is love of God that leads to true love of neighbor and to the true practice of charity. This way of doing and acting would, through the practice of renunciation and penance, allow for the salvation of thousands and thousands of souls, if we really set our minds to it. So many souls fall like snowflakes into hell, as the privileged souls have often reminded us.
If bishops and priests persist in maintaining this disastrous situation, thousands and thousands of churches will no longer be the Church, which is already beginning to happen. For thousands and thousands of the faithful, the current sermons in the churches are opportunities to remain slack in the service of the Lord; consequently, they are instruments of death, since they do not lead directly to Heaven and do not make them think about it.
Like a Rotten Apple with a Worm Inside
All this has happened because the priest himself has let himself go and no longer lives the first commandment of love of God. Like an apple, he presents himself with a worm inside and is no longer the guide he should be. If the bishops, priests, and abbots had lived according to the rules laid down by the Lord, you would not have this catastrophe that you now see in Rome. If that had been the case, the Lord would not have tolerated anyone other than Pope Paul VI claiming to reign in his name.
This reality, which has also become apparent outside the Vatican, is the work of Freemasonry. But if, throughout the world, millions of faithful had gathered together for religious exercises to pray and do penance and at the same time ask the Lord to deliver us from this situation, Heaven would have prevented this catastrophe from happening. If we had embarked on a crusade of prayer, Rome would still be Rome.
I must also say this: I must tell thousands and thousands of priests today that women can become their downfall, and that would not happen if they armed themselves with prayer. If priests took up their breviaries and nourished themselves with the doctrine of the Doctors of the Church, who through prayer have such great experience of man, things would be different for them; whereas, if they do not do so, they belong to those thousands and thousands of priests who currently live in mortal sin.
Thousands of priests live outside of grace and no longer say the breviary, as I myself did. If only I had still called on my Guardian Angel for help; but no, I refused all the means that would have allowed me to recover, and by following this way of life, I certainly neglected to educate young people; and yet I was much less bad than what is currently happening with priests and young people. This warning should be a light for priests who are on the path to perdition.
In the past, there were still many priests who cared for their own sanctification, but today they have taken the broad path and, at the same time, the path of perdition. If we do not pray for them, if penitent souls do not arise to defend them and obtain graces for them, they are lost. It seems incredible, it is tragic, but I am obliged to say it as it is.
It is all the more tragic because our God is not a God who resembles a sugar daddy. He has created laws, and these laws are eternal. They must be obeyed, and the faithful must not listen to those in the clergy who advocate change, because it is not the clergy who make the laws, but the Lord, and his laws remain eternal. It is not for nothing that the Lord pointed out in the Gospel that it is better to enter the kingdom of heaven with one eye than with two eyes in hell.
It is indeed through the gaze that priests are increasingly losing their way today. Nowadays, priests do not mortify their gaze sufficiently. They accept far too many images in their hearts that are a hindrance to their inner life. It starts on television and continues in parish work, where women are now numerous. In the past, women in the Church had their heads covered. Nowadays, this is no longer the case. So why turn the altar to face the people? I, Verdi-Garandieu, said Mass with my back to the people, and even so I was seduced by women; today's priests, with Mass turned towards the people, have more temptations than ever.
It is not for nothing that the Lord, in the Gospel, said that it is better to enter (the Kingdom) with one eye, or with one hand and one foot, than to enter the terrible torment of hell with two eyes, two hands, and two feet. Do priests believe that the Gospel has lost its value today and that they can twist it to suit their own tastes? Do they believe that the Lord Jesus spoke only to the men to whom he gave his message? In his day, people wore long clothes.
It does not occur to priests that perhaps He was speaking more to the people of our time, when perdition is spreading more and more through technological means, and no one is able to stop anything. It is a burning furnace of perdition, which cannot be extinguished by the efforts of a number of good priests who are struggling here and there.
The Lord always addresses each person's freedom. Furthermore, we have the Bible, especially the Gospel, and all the messages that constantly remind us of the guidelines that the Lord has laid down. If we refuse to listen to them, Heaven can do nothing, especially if we take pleasure in adapting the Gospel to our own tastes.
If we throw all these mercies to the wind, what can Heaven do? How can grace work if we no longer read holy books or books about saints, such as the life of Catherine Emmerich, or that of the Curé d'Ars, or even that of Padre Pio, who set a great example in our time? Each of these saints feels the same love for the same sacrifice, in the same renunciation, out of love for others. The penance of these saints has been accepted by the Most High.
He would be quite ready to accept still other reparations, other sacrifices, with a view to conversion. Often, the Good Lord would like us to be able to say to him: "I accept the sufferings you will send me. Give me the grace to bear them, for the conversion of this person or that person." But we see instead that when the Lord sends suffering, very often Christians reject it with horror and with all their strength. Too often, people do everything they can to avoid suffering. It is up to priests to live according to this way of seeing things and to preach it to the faithful.
All those who refuse suffering and seek only to eliminate it do not live in accordance with God's first commandment. It is more in accordance with God's will to say, "Thy will be done, not mine!" This way of uniting oneself with Christ's agony would be the best way to honor God's love. If suffering were united with acceptance of God's will, it would take on great value.
As excruciating as certain sufferings may be, when united with those of Christ, they still allow for sanctification and reparation for the sins of others. I am thinking of all the sufferings that are sometimes inherent in the state of marriage and that we refuse, in the hope that one day, perhaps, we will be able to separate from our partner; and yet, if it were endured, this suffering would effect great reparation. Thousands and thousands of people could suffer while thinking of others, and these sufferings offered up would not be lost.
All this is completely forgotten in your Catholic Church today. It is very rare that any of this is spoken about from the pulpit, and this is a universal fact. Imitating Jesus Christ and caring for the salvation of one's neighbor, that is what is important. The rest is secondary, and that is what is contained in the aphorism: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
If Christ were to return among us, there would still be thousands and thousands of people who would consider him a rebel and a madman. All those who commit themselves to following Jesus Christ are considered crazy nowadays. Instead of rising upwards, we are descending downwards; and so many priests no longer preach these truths because they are, for themselves, a living reproach, since they no longer live by them. If they themselves practiced virtue, they could ask much more of people. What I myself do not want, how can I think that others would want it?
It is truly tragic what you are currently experiencing in the Catholic Church. This ranges from priests to the Cardinals of Rome. If priests lived like Christ and the Apostles, they would lead souls on a much more enlightened and secure path. As St. John the Baptist and Jesus preached in their time, we must convert and do penance.
So many priests today are fighting against effort and goodness because they themselves have turned toward evil. They are already on the broad road that leads to the abyss. This is what should be said to priests, face to face, but in a way that respects the ways of psychology and shows that we are only seeking their good. It is not a question of telling them that they are evil, but of using psychology to bring them, of their own accord, to turn back.
We must ask them, at least indirectly, whether or not they have stopped praying, and lead them to understand that the things of God can only be illuminated through prayer, as can the concern for the salvation of souls. As for those who are more capable of withstanding rebuffs, we could use these against them and, perhaps, with God's help, bring them back. People's natures are different. We must adapt to what is presented to us, as Padre Pio did.
Some priests may be victims of ignorance, but most are well aware of the state of deficiency into which they have fallen; reminding them of their vocation might be an opportunity to bring them back to the right path and to the Lord. In any case, all of them would guide the souls in their care much better if they entered the path of renunciation. This is a great truth that I would prefer to keep silent, but Those Above (he points upward) command me to reveal and remind you of it, even though I am in hell, where I never thought I would fall.
How much suffering I would endure on my knees, in defense of my flock, if I could return to earth! I would even accept martyrdom to save my flock, and many times over. I would accept it willingly and with the greatest devotion, if it were the will of Those Above (he points upward). My first goal would be to fulfill the first commandment, and to seek how to honor it and make myself worthy of this commandment. I would ask God to enlighten me on His will for me.
There is a principle that says that when in doubt, you should choose the path that costs the most. Do priests and the faithful think about this principle? It is only a proverb. God did not say it, but it is very appropriate to the situation. Thousands of priests are on the path to perdition because they chose the easiest path. Yes, they choose the path of least resistance. This way of doing things is not pleasing to God.
According to the Apostle Saint Paul, we must discern between possible solutions and choose the best one. We must pray to the Holy Spirit, as Beelzebub, Judas, and all the other demons before me have already said. Everyone must strive to recognize their own vocation, because the Lord has a specific plan for each person. Already held in high esteem before the Lord because of his status as a priest, the priest should also present himself before men with great authority. He must approach men and earn their respect because he truly follows the path he himself speaks of, which corresponds to his vocation.
The faithful need to see before them someone who sets an example for them, not someone who leads them to perdition, or at least who, despite being a priest, lives the path of perdition. There should be a great distance between a priest and a lay person. The Most High has always wanted this, because the priest is a treasure of blessings. The priest must remind us of that high priest who is Jesus Christ and, because of this, attract the veneration of the faithful. He must tirelessly remind us, through his life, of the great majesty of the Divinity, and believe that we have a duty to worship and love Him, as He asks.
This is something that should be taught from early childhood. Even very young children should be taken to church so that, when passing in front of the tabernacle, they become accustomed to kneeling with the greatest devotion. They should be helped to adore the Blessed Sacrament by saying prayers such as this: "Praised and adored be the Most Holy Sacrament of the altar." Children would then be invited to invoke the Holy Angels to help them praise the divine Majesty and the greatness of the Most Holy Trinity in the highest heavens.
What Good Is It for a Man to Gain the Whole World if He Loses His Soul?
What does a Church represent that is no longer capable of lifting hearts to the Most Holy Trinity? What does a Church represent that no longer presents God as completely above men, that no longer shows the sublimity of the Most Holy Trinity, that no longer reminds us that it is absolutely necessary to please the Almighty in heaven? If priests no longer do so, at least parents should do so with regard to their children. We must never cease to make it known that we must worship God, even if, around us, the state of souls is very bad and very painful.
When suffering is accepted, we should thank God for the triumph He will bring about for us through this difficulty. We should kneel and thank the Lord for the sufferings He sends us to improve us and lead us on the path of virtue. Those who flee from difficulties and sufferings are condemned to lose virtue. In centuries past, there have always been priests who lived up to their vocation. But even today, there are those who live in the same conditions, very humble conditions; because they carry the peace of the Lord in their hearts, they surpass everything on earth.
"What good is it for a man to gain the whole world if he loses his soul?" I must say, I, Verdi-Garandieu, that on this subject, our era is very poorly informed. It is in an era when there is no love for one's neighbor that the Church has begun to preach love for one's neighbor exclusively. True love for one's neighbor begins with concern for his soul, not concern for his body. Is it not better that men perish by plague and war and all kinds of suffering, and that by saving their souls, they acquire the glory of God?
Moreover, men who live in luxury and earthly pleasures are in great danger of losing their souls. Charity in the Masonic fashion stinks. It is the perdition of so many souls, because it is not true love of one's neighbor, but hypocrisy. If they (the priests) knew into what perdition they are plunging their faithful, they would distance themselves from this language and speak quite differently.
It is obvious that we must help others materially, especially if they are suffering greatly from poverty, but that is not the main issue. The main thing is to remain faithful to the doctrine we must defend and not to sell our souls. To practice love of neighbor is to lead our neighbor onto the right path.
It Is Not Worth It - These Worms Will Gnaw at Your Soul Forever and Ever
Alas! Thousands of priests, led by their bishops and cardinals, have imposed this way of living charity on the Church; in doing so, they have flattened this virtue in a way that is not at all what God intended it to be.
It is because true love of one's neighbor never comes without concern for the soul of one's neighbor that causing him to suffer by telling him and showing him the truth is also practicing love of one's neighbor. Later, he will recognize that it was, in fact, the true medicine.
The priest, from the pulpit, should use the rod and very resolute words in his language, because justice exists in eternity; and because hell exists, which they never talk about anymore, since they no longer believe in it. They no longer even believe in Heaven, in its supreme reality. If they believed in it, they would not lead thousands of people into error, whom they should be leading to Heaven.
What kind of priests are we dealing with today? I myself did not speak as plainly as they speak today. They are rushing to perdition, and their place in hell is already prepared (the devil cries out this last thought).
But what I say here, I say equally for cardinals, bishops, priests, and lay people. If all these people knew the chaotic situation they are in, they would say mea culpa a thousand times, a thousand and a thousand times. They would grab themselves by the collar and tear out these worms that are eating away at their souls. They would not stop tearing them out, these worms, to prevent them from spreading everywhere. They would destroy all these parasites that cause so much destruction in souls with fiery tongs. They would first practice the first part of the commandment of love, and then the love due to their neighbor.
True love is not manifested only through gifts, because even with these gifts, one can keep one's neighbor on the road to hell. This is what I was compelled to say and what explains why I refused, for so long, to give my name. But Those Above (he points upward) forced me to speak because I myself have lived this fate; because I myself have not exercised my priesthood as I should have.
I must say that those who break the sixth commandment, as well as luxury, have become the means of perdition for many priests. If they recognized this immense tragedy, they would sacrifice themselves to the last drop of their blood. They would feel immense pain for all that has happened and would start all over again. They would call on all the saints and angels to help them find the true path, because in the eternity of hell, the fire is continuous, and the worm gnaws at your soul forever. This immense pain, this horrible tragedy of hell, lasts for eternity, and I, Garandieu, am obliged to say this.
